We tell stories about us, by us, for us…
…and we support others to do the same.
We are a disabled and Indigenous-led creative impact agency and social enterprise working with partners to create meaningful, long-lasting change for our communities. We do this through storytelling, media production, workshops, and social impact consulting with values-based organisations.
Activate work exclusively with charities, community groups, and organisations making positive change for our people and planet. We believe deeply that campaigns and movements benefit from community-designed, well-crafted stories to generate maximum impact - that’s why we developed Impact Narrative, a process that ensures the highest standards of ethical storytelling and change making are upheld, all while developing powerful narratives that activate real and lasting change.
stories are sacred.
We believe that people’s stories are sacred, and supporting individuals and communities to share their stories with the world is a privilege that we take very seriously. We honour this by upholding tikaka, or protocols, that put Indigenous & Disability rights, and values-based framing at the very centre of all our storytelling and change making practice.
Our work centers stories of people whose voices are often unheard and excluded - especially Māori and disabled communities - and we understand what it means to treat people and their stories with care - because we belong to those communities ourselves. We ensure that each kaupapa we take on is led by team members with lived experience, who are not only passionate and knowledgeable about that kaupapa, but who hold the community relationships required to work that moves beyond diversity and inclusion to justice.
